The route from Johannesburg to the Kruger National Park offers one of the most beautiful stretches of land in the whole country with the Panorama Route in South Africa. Numerous highlights await you, lush green nature, great vantage points, lots of waterfalls and spectacular gorges and valleys just waiting to be explored by you.
The route takes about 6.5 hours by car, but I recommend to stay at least 3 nights along the way. You really don't need to worry about malaria for this part of the country. However, if you travel further into the Kruger National Park, you should seek advice from your family doctor or at the Tropical Institute as there is an increased risk in this park. So let's get started!
